Pros

Very open culture, people open to suggestions from even new college graduates, always ready to discuss ideas. I had opportunity to work with some of the best people at Bangalore. I received some tasks with clear goal and appropriate guidance. I could go bug my lead from time to time to get feedback and help, and made really good progress in little time resulting in lot of confidence boost .. I joined with very little real world skills (no perl/shell scripting, not much programming or verilog) soon was able to ramp up on most of things because of interesting work.

Cons

It is a less people high output kind of company, so even though people are helpful they may be pressed for deadlines.. There is no official training and not so good documentation, so have to develop some soft-skills of bugging right people at right time to make forward progress.. If you don't have initiative - you can't servive here.. Engineers may be exposed to some high level decisions every few months when product level changes are made to adjust to market.. Similarly, there are lot of role changes depending on priority of projects so it causes some re-focusing issue.. Also you don't have ownership of something for a really long time so can't milk your invested time fully..

Pros

Decent compensation Nvidia Bangalore Centre works on the latest technologies, there are opportunities to learn and grow technically. If you are a geek and like slogging out for long hours, you might like this place..

Cons

Work life Balance can be very bad in some groups, particularly the groups doing backend design work. Aggressive work culture. Attending daily night calls and meetings can be troublesome for many. Most people would put in lot of hours even on weekends and holidays , setting the same standard for others. Heavy email traffic puts a lot of stress and can decrease productivity. No proper documentation on the complicated flows, very difficult for a new joinee to learn the flows in a short time and become productive. Stock doesn't seem to be going anywhere, the RSU's are no match to what other top companies are paying. It used to be a place once which was known to be a top paymaster and cutting edge work. However now it has lost its shine in the market, companies like LSI, Qualcomm, Broadcom are paying more for the same talent. Work has become just so and so, they do not need top brains anymore for doing such work. Mad rush to enter into the management ladder has resulted in lot of office politics. If you do not have a good reputation with your manager, you will go nowhere in this company, no matter how good work you do.
