Pros

Great work/life balance, open corporate culture and communication, exciting products and global career opportunities.

Cons

Can have heavy travel requirements - frequent trips to Europe and possibly Asia, depending on position. Nokia's products remain very weak in the US and the company continues to spin its wheels in this market.

Pros

To work for the largest mobile handset manufacturer is a pleasure. The staff are great and people are motivated to do a good job. Work environment and facilities are great. It is very motivating and the staff reflect off of that. Recognition is greatly looked upon as in certain teams. Depending on the Manager, your work will be recognized by others quite well and room for growth is possible.

Cons

Too much re-organization going on. Nokia needs to stay competitive especially in the North American Market where they are drastically falling behind in all the latest trends. We have great products, but they don't come out in time and it always seems that we're the followers instead of the innovators. Senior mgmt are now encouraging that and restructuring the organization in a way so that we can create products and not platforms. Hopefully this transition will create just that and get us back on top and become that company we were once before.

Pros

They really take care of their employers well (health care, 5 weeks paid vacation, bonus) International career opportunities, NOKIA has offices around the world so basically you can have the opportunity to work anywhere in the world, Supports from company, I always feel that whatever decision I take the whole company stands behind me You get to use NOKIAs gigantic network and basically decide where you in the world you would like to work You get to work with branch absolute top professionals that are if you get in. Their screening process is difficult with interviews and aptitude test and other managerial testing

Cons

bureaucracy is NOKIAs problem but that is the same for all multinational coglomer- Also desicion making prosess take time., everybody in high position wants to have an opinion. If you want to work in NOKIAs HQ you better learn some finish. The problem is Not that the official business language at NOKIA is enlish but you also need to communicate on your spare time, make your arrends and try to fit to society. Other than that I dont see any other downsides of you working at Nokia so my conclusion is that you send your paper in and let everything else solve in time-
