I was part of comptel and with dread read the email saying that comptel would be bought by Nokia in 2017. During the acquisition the Nokia management said that even though many of us at comptel used to work for Nokia / NSN that things were different now and we would be valued and thrive as a standalone business in Nokia. That changed even before the acquisition was completed and Comptel disappeared and we soon realised things were as before. Endless tools and processes to be followed. Nobody to really talk to, just a tool to use. I looked around for another job and was so happy to leave. The same week I resigned they announced a round of job cuts which is an annual affair (there was another round in Jan 2020). I feel sorry for my ex-colleagues (those who are left anyway since they leave on a regular basis). I also feel sorry for Finns in general since Nokia was once a flagship company recognised around the world and something to be proud of. Now they just want to get rid of as many people and save as much money as possible. I'm so glad to work for a competitor of theirs and clap with joy for every customer we take away from Nokia.
