      Nokia was a fantastic company to work for with plenty of talented people and great work.

      Pros

      The organization was always quite flat so not too many chiefs, there was always a steady stream of new projects and opportunities to learn new skills. Another positive was the corporate culture. We were a cohesive and collaborative tribe for many years and we had the freedom to grow within the company.

      Cons

      Many times, the organization moved too slow and just about the time great work was put in place, we'd change direction or start reinventing the wheel. Lastly, the downsizing, layoffs, redundecies, renewals, refocusing, etc etc was neverending.

      Pros

      You have the possibility to earn good money. Most of the time you have a really international team. If you want you have the ability to travel.

      Cons

      The work which you are doing is not recognized my the management. There are no individual bonuses. If you have your feedback talk with your boss there is no increase of your salary, even it was really positive.

      1. Exposure to some very talented people 2. Strong work ethic 3. Strong emphasis on environmental awareness and responsibility 4. Never a dull moment, keeps you on your toes 5. New management seems to know what they are doing...

      Cons

      1. Management waited too long to right the sinking Symbian ship 2. Upper management allowed too many mid-level 'empire builders' to take over and further their own agendas, at the expense of the company 3. Too many re-orgs, way too frequently -- destroys employee morale 4. Ad-hoc appointments of some managers, without proper due diligence 5. Arrogance and Euro-centric thinking on the part of prior upper management; still evident even with new managers, especially in Finland
