Pros

fairness to employees, benefits, quality employees, cross-training across functions (employees aren't professionally siloed into a particular career)

Cons

too big and matrixed organizationally, managemetn is disconnected from the consumer and the actual tasks employees are doing. no focus on retention and measuring retention, management is prone to letting employees figure out how to fix problems even though the problem is systemic (i.e. management is disconnected from the consumer).

Equal opportunity to some extents. Lots of trinings and career advancement opportunities available

Cons

Was a good company to work for during its golden ages which are now gone by... lots of lobbying and you need to be in good eyes of your mgt if you want to stay onboard
