Pros

- Great salary and benefits as an expatriate senior manager - Good pedigree in the tech/IT industry based on the Nokia name - Exposure to international offices and contacts

Cons

- Limited to 'kissing ass' or a 'cover your ass' culture of working - Reduction in R&D is a death-knell for the brand's innovation - Incompetent hiring for local senior managers is killing team morale and passion - Expats are subject to lop-sided local employment policies. Do your homework before you sign up. - Reorgs happen all the time, and staff are left wondering what the true intentions are. Stinks of a COVER UP!!

Pros

ok working environment, should be a laid-back European culture, but quite busy for me, people in other teams seem have lots of free time.

Cons

not many smart people around, no passion, mediocre management. no way to survive in today's internet business

Pros

Advantages of being an Intern in IT Strategy & Developlment where I've been, is for sure being able to see how an IT department really works. You're at first treated like an intern, that is they'll teach you everything and they'll enourage you to ask questions - if you don't do, then it's not an overall good impression. But then, it is their interest that you grow professionally there, this means that after a couple of months they expect you to behave like a normal full-time employee - even though of course your wage might not increase in 6-7 months. But it really depends on which team you join; I've been gifted by joining a committed team and one of the best managers of the whole IT department in NSN (6.000 thousands people, 10% of the company), but my friends in other teams didn't have the same impression by their own teams.

Cons

Surely Nokia Siemens Neworks is not passing a nice time now; there's a lot of demotivation in the employee, so if I were given an opportunity to work there right now, I would reject (of course if I'll have other opportounities to choose from...). Surely I don't have the impression now that with NSN I'll have a long-term job, given the current situation chrysis and the fierce competition in the Telco market by Huawei and Ericsson.
