Pros

Nuance is rich with very bright engineers and vast data repositories and resources. Collaboration was always rewarding across teams in the company.

Cons

Nuance's inorganic growth via acquisition after acquisition for the purposes of acquiring IP can easily lead to instability in the satellite organizations that are brought into the fold.

Pros

- Great Products that solve real word problems - Global company, with opportunity to travel, if that is your thing - If you negotiate your salary up front compensation is competitive - Nuance owns a lot of Patents and Intellectual Property around the markets it services; this makes it hard for them to be leapfrogged by a competitor.

Cons

- Acquisitions are never really integrated; this creates a company with multiple cultures and multiple competing priorities - The acquisition process is very crude and creates disgruntled employees from the acquired company. - The process's, systems and tools, regardless of dept, are not in line with "best in class".... they are more like "barely does the job".... this hurts you when you try to move on to an innovative company that does use best in class process and systems. - Executive leadership does not put value in recruiting, hiring and keeping top notch talent across all departments.

Pros

Flexible working hours, working with latest technology, ability to work from home, excellent IT support, eager to get the job done, etc.

Cons

Not necessarily you have clear communication from upper management regarding the issues that happen. However there are quarterly meetings to discuss these issues, but I rarely found detailed information that could helpfully address the current employees.
