Pros

Work at home. That's it.

Cons

This is the worst company I ever worked for. After working for another transcription company for 10 years with a steadily increasing salary, we were sold to Nuance. They started chipping away at my salary until I had to give up my condo to short sale and move half way across the country to live with my son and his family. After 5 years with this company, I had to have quintuple bypass open heart surgery (partly due to stress). The ONLY communication from the company during my 11-day stay in the hospital was that I had run out of PTO and in order to keep my insurance I had to start SENDING THEM CHECKS to pay my insurance premiums which would normally be taken out of my paycheck. Heartless, uncaring company. They decided that we should all have equal pay, which mean that we all went down to starting pay, whether this was your first job ever or you had been doing it for 20-30 years.

Pros

No commute. Make your own hours (kind of/if there's work).

Cons

Horrendous compensation. Managers are abusive. Zero sick/vacation days. Expected to work holidays for no stat pay. No EI, CPP or pension paid into. No raises. Ever. No positive feedback, only negativity or no communication at all from management. No references offered.

Pros

-The positions are remote. -The culture is wonderful. Everyone is so helpful and want the company to do well. -Upper management involvement is awesome. I could ask for a meeting with the CEO or CFO today and they would take the time to talk to me. How many companies can say that? -Being a part of a team that is changing the face of medical documentation is pretty awesome. We're a part of provider's getting their lives back and patient's getting their provider interaction back. How cool is that?

Cons

The pay could be more, but then again, we work from home and that is crazy convenient. I'm saving money on having to get out and drive to my job daily, so I see this as a wash.
