Pros

The most important thing I liked about Nuance was the flexibility of the job. Working from home was allowed as needed. They had flexible hours and really created a family/work balance. The culture and the open door policy was really beneficial as well. Developers don't look down on QA as a 2nd class team, there was self respect across both teams.

Cons

Climbing up ladder was difficult. Lack of communication. Hiring process can take months, even to the point where no communication was ever given to interviewer. Heck, sometimes head count would be closed after a verbal offer went out.

Pros

Innovative technology, cutting edge products and services, good benefits and salaries. Decent location that is near some restaurants and the Burlington mall.

Cons

No defined career goals and paths, not much attention to improving or growing current employees, VERY few promotions internally. Little to no HR presence. No fun or team building events or parties held.
