Frustratingly chaotic

Pros

Very good benefits (health insurance, vacation, stock purchase plans). Usually a good work/life balance. The office has a good location downtown. You can play with some of the best tech in speech recognition.

Cons

Product management has no vision. There is too much focus on R&D and IP, because R&D sucks at D (development) and nobody knows what to do with out IP other than selling their rights. Experience is the only thing that's recognized, not talent or quality. IT is incompetent. There are highly politically isolated groups, even years after a merger. Few good "vertical integration" engineers or "overall vision" managers; everybody's narrow-minded and isolated.

Pros

If you are a work-from-home mom, this is a really nice place to be since there are lots of flexibility.

Cons

if you are a young professional looking for a bright future, don't ever stay here. It is guaranteed a waste of time spent here.

Pros

Loved the team i was working with.

Cons

Very 'old girl' system, COMs do not back up staff, corporate bully's abound. Managed by managers with no transcription experience. The morale is horrible. Employees with Nuance for a while are very arrogant and condescending. Pay was decent. Constantly changing policies before current ones are used long enough to assess. They have bought so many companies on the transcription side that it's a free for all developing policies. Platform very manual and time consuming for middle managers.
