Pros

- Decent benefits like healthcare account, retirement saving, health insurance, transport reimbursement. - Talented and respectful coworkers - Great system in place to get people up to speed - Interesting products to work on - Work/life balance is great with one day per week work at home. There is no problem to ramp down when there is less work as long as you ramp up when there is a need. - Flexible work hours - Management recognizes employees that do a great job - Strategic vision is regularly communicated to all levels of employees - Possibility to grow and change into different roles within the company

Cons

- Somewhat political - Large organization with a somewhat heavy bureaucracy - Typical North American company that is sometimes too focused on profit and not enough on their human resources

Pros

Nuance is a unique company that focuses solely on improving human-machine interaction better through the use of natural language processing. Not everyone at the company is working directly on NLP algorithms, but everyone is supporting language-based products at some level. It's very exciting to be working on cutting-edge technologies.

Cons

If you're interested in working for a small company, Nuance is not a good choice. It does come with some of the red tape that big companies have.
