I recently had the privilege of completing an internship at the EU Delegation to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), and it was an incredibly enriching and transformative experience. From start to finish, the internship provided me with invaluable opportunities to enhance my understanding of international affairs and contribute to meaningful diplomatic work. Throughout my internship, I was consistently impressed by the level of professionalism, expertise, and guidance offered by the team at the EU Delegation. From day one, I was made to feel like an integral part of the team and was given meaningful tasks and responsibilities. The supportive and inclusive environment fostered a collaborative atmosphere, where my ideas and contributions were genuinely valued.
Cons
One of the challenges I encountered during my internship was the occasional lack of clarity regarding my specific role and responsibilities. At times, the scope of my tasks was not clearly defined, which led to confusion and difficulty in prioritizing assignments. Having clearer guidelines and expectations upfront would have enhanced my productivity and overall satisfaction during the internship. Another aspect that could be improved is the level of direct mentorship and feedback. While the team at the EU Delegation was supportive, there were instances where I would have appreciated more direct guidance and regular feedback on my work. Establishing a more structured feedback mechanism, such as regular check-ins or performance evaluations, would have been beneficial for my professional development and understanding of expectations.
