Pros

Fairly stable, simple 9-5 job. Easy to get by if you don't want to push yourself. Good life work balance as there's no incentive to work more than 40 hours a week, but that can depend on your management and where you work.

Cons

Tech and career dead end type jobs. Good if you just want to ride out your career. Terrible outdated tech stacks and very little room for innovation and creativity in your daily job.

Pros

Oracle makes money, and they understand the enterprise pretty well. They are good at strategic acquisitions.

Cons

Oracle's culture is bleak. Fun in the workplace tends to be rare, and the humor is black. Engineers are treated like cogs in a vast machine. There are layers and layers of bureaucracy, which is why acquisitions are essential to Oracle's success. Oracle's organizational philosophy is that people will not do the right thing without rules, checklists, and hierarchies of review.
