Difficult place to work, but does have some upsides

-Benefits (health insurance, company facilities) are excellent -Great work/life balance -Great collegial, cordial, friendly environments -If you land in a great org, it's important to stay there because bad ones abound -Oracle is big on telecommuting -Very little "big-brother" mentality from the corporate level -Walks the walk on diversity in the workplace

Cons

-Outrageous levels of worthless management (3-4 vp's deep in some places) -Non-competitive salaries and COLA, even if you are a rock star -Promotions happening regularly in management, extremely rare among individual contributors -In some orgs, extreme micromanagement -Many US-side headcount replaced by multiple bodies in India

Market salary, great working conditions. Also the opportunity to build a career. Good health & dental insurance

Cons

Salary increases are slow, and salary bands don't move for people already inside the company. Also, some other similar size companies seem to have other extra compensations we don't: Christmas bonus, holiday bonus, etc.

Pros

Good work,life balance. Hires from good universities and most new hires are great. Server technologies is a great place where your work will impact many in the world. Larry.

Cons

Managers - for their job security, they don't let employees grow after certain stage. Have seen some worse managers who employ divisive strategy to be at the helm. Technical people manage some groups and that leads to conflict of interest. Information flows in only one direction (upwards).
