Pros

- Occasionally interesting work - Decent healthcare benefits - Some flexibility of work schedule within development orgs. (if you work for the right manager)

Cons

- Zero focus on management training/skills within the development organizations - Consistent lack of financial incentive (even for those in the top 10% come review time) - An expectation that employees will work as many hours per day needed to achieve unrealistic project goals (part of the culture) - Workaholic mentality is encouraged - Many employees are deeply unhappy as a result of quarter on quarter penny pinching and lack of raises.
