Pros

- Great work environment - Dedicated and loyal employees - Reasonably good benefits for hourly employees - Work-from-home available to most employees - Sharing ideas is encouraged

Cons

- Bonuses only paid to salaried employees. Most employees are hourly - Execs continue to receive excessive salaries and bonuses - Compensation for hourly employees remains stagnant for long periods of time. - Hourly pay often lags behind competitors - Internal process changes occur so often it is difficult to learn one before moving to the next

Pros

- Pay not as poor as people say. Engineer/Analyst pay above standard DBA pay rates. - Management have always been flexible and understanding with requests for time off, vacation, training. - Pretty much go on as many training courses of various types as you want. - Opportunities to work with acknowledged technical experts and work/transfer abroad

Cons

- Pay rises are non-existent. - A promotion does NOT mean a payrise. - Customers and Sr management expect engineers to know everything about ALL Oracle products - Management do not value technical skills. Believe anyone can do this job and hence outsource to low-cost countries such as Romania and Egypt.

Pros

+ Work-life balance. In at 8, out at 5-6 + Interesting projects for the most part + Job security if you have the right skill set within the firm

Cons

- Big company issues. Decisions take a lot of time to get made. Sign off authority is unclear and many managers are risk averse - Lots of fire fighting on tougher projects - Lots of travel on a remote project. Bye, bye work life
