Had to Leave

Pros

Products were always fun. Environment was typical sales (what have you done for me lately attitude).

Cons

Take away items such as car allowance which was part of the compensation package so removing that was an immediate reduction in your pay. Bonuses are not as good as other companies in the industry. They do not listen to the employees. I always felt that they would not care if I left as they could just hire another one just like me and cheaper. Very disappointing that after 16 years with Oracle I felt it was necessary to leave as there were just too many changes that affected you as an employee. This past year it was mandatory that employees take leave during the Christmas holidays and you had to use your vacation. The company closed that week. That benefits Oracle and not the employee as is the case with most of their changes.

Pros

Great co-workers; flexible hours; unlimited sick leave

Cons

No raises or bonuses unless you get promoted. The lack of financial incentive does not encourage employees to stay long term

Pros

If you're fresh out of college like me then Oracle is a great place to start your career. You will get to work with some bright consultants and great technologies. You will get plenty of opportunities to learn and grow technically.

Cons

A great to place to learn and that's where all the good things about Oracle stops. No promotions at all. No appreciation and don't care about the employees attitude. I have seen many many smart and hard working people leave Oracle because of this attitude and Oracle will continue to lose these kind of people.
