Pros

Some of the best sales training around. Extensive class on negotiating, cold calling, leaving voice messages, etc.. Oracle Direct (inside sales group) does recognize top performers with awards and there are quarterly events. Sr. rep program allows you to work from home up to 2 days a week.

Cons

Starting salary is low. I took a $20K pay cut to work here only before the OTE were greater. This was fine for awhile but the company does not pay out their employee's correctly on commission. If you are not paid on a deal you have to submit a form to rectify the mistake and that can take 30-90 days until you are paid. This was happening so much that in June 2013 the company took away the 30 day pay-out and now pays their commissions out in 45 days. So anything I would close in September, I don't get paid on until November 15th. The management is very micro-managing. They will sit at your desk and listen to your calls on a splitter. The call stats you are supposed to complete each week are not realistic. On numerous occasions, employees will be asked to sell a product that they do not get paid on and will be promised a SPIF or prize (like an ipad). One employee was the top seller on a certain product like this and instead of sending her an ipad, they sent her a check, that was taxed and was not even enough to buy an ipad. It seems that they do not believe in employee retention because if you want to move to the field, the salary increase is no worth it. You may get a 6% salary increase. If you were to switch companies for a field job you can get a 6 figure salary easy. This is a big reason why Oracle Direct has such high turn-around.

Pros

You will work with very smart people and learn much. Your earning potential is high. If you join Sales, your Oracle business card will open many doors, both with customers and recruiters.

Cons

Your job training will be OJT. There is no career path. Oracle is what you make of it. Pay raises are rare, and your car allowance never increases. Your biggest competitor is the rest of the Oracle Sales team. The customer is not Oracle's top priority.

Pros

You have the ability to take classes at Oracle University (assuming your project manager will actually let you leave the project for a week), and you get to work with very smart people

Cons

The work/life balance is a struggle. You can easily end up traveling a great deal or working on a project with a terrible commute. Management seems to care very little about employee's career goals and doesn't keep promises. And for your efforts, you can expect very little in the way of raises.
