      Top-down management to the extreme Employees not valued; they are interchangeable commodities Salary increases/bonuses extremely rare, except for execs Difficult to get the required tools to do your job Cut-throat, political work environment Frequent US layoffs; eliminated positions are replaced in India and Mexico Quality not valued - "just get it done" attitude

      Pros

      If you are interested in having a highly energetic, exciting and aggressive environment where you can learn your skills and grow, Oracle is the place to be. It has a highly business-like, no-nonsense, competitive environment for go-getters.

      Cons

      If you are expecting a "touchy feely" environment where your individual skills are respected and your value to the company is well recognized, you will be disappointed. Senior management especially is not very "people oriented". However, by being a very successful and profitable company, Oracle indeed "takes care" of its people more than adequately.
