Pros

Great work-life balance If you are looking for a company where not performers are recognized and stay there for a long time "surviving" being hated by your reps but loved by your VPs , Oracle is the right company for you

Cons

If you are a talented professional and want to progress your career unfortunately is not the right company for you. Also is you are not Irish and do not support the big Irish management gang working there you are not the right person at all. Do you want to know how a 80/90s company is working in 2016? Welcome to Oracle!! No strategy or plannification! CRM is the worst ever ..main tool used internally is Excel which means data is highly not accurate so everyone can make up numbers easily. BDG is a total mess, ISRs too. Cold calling and ridiculous KPIs that can't be measure properly are main part of the job for fresh graduates or experienced reps that are totally by their own to achieve targets. Unfortunately most of the directors and VPs are dinosaurs that never sold Cloud solutions in an Inside Sales org which means they do not have any clue how to go to market. Creativity and proactivity is being killed internally by Directors rather political environment and personal favours are seeing as normality

Pros

Invests heavily in initial training and provides market leading resource to build foundation for individual success. Has a great vision for where they want to be in the Market. Promotes a career path for people that want to grow in the organisation. Great facilities - Gym, New Office, Canteen, Starbucks. Extremely good non salary benefits - Healthcare, bonus, education etc.

Cons

The "self-service" IT model translates into the sales methodology - Cold calling into your defined territory. The concept of treating your territory as your "own business" really feels like your on your own running a one man band at times. No marketing qualified leads seem to come out of the "blackhole" that is Business Development - Which is strange as they sell Cloud CRM and MA solutions. Losing their best Sales People and Sales Managers as they reward people that play the political game. Seem to have their Go-to-Market all wrong - Throw as much resource and people at Territories as possible and hope that more cold calls will result in more pipeline and revenue.

Pros

Oracle is an incredible place to work. There is opportunity everywhere. It does required a couple things though. 1) You can be having the time of your life while the person sitting next to you is not.. This is the nature of a company as large and diverse as Oracle. Therefore you need to do you're due diligence and ensure the manager/role/KPI's etc. are going to give you a good work environment. Don't rely on 'Oracle' as it's too big - be sure you understand the team you are going into. The company is in a growth spurt particularly in the Sales function around cloud applications. This can mean ambitious hiring in advance of the demand so if you are going into a sales role be a self starter and study up on demand generation. 2) Bring your personality, idea's innovation and positivity. Oracle is crying out for this and we were always on the hunt for people to make a positive example of. I've seen careers grow incredibly fast as people take their own initiatives. I've also seen people a couple weeks in the company leading global projects - just because they like the subject matter and pushed for something to happen. 3) Branch out! Meet new people every day. The ones that isolate themselves to a small group often find themselves lonely in the long run... It's a place where you need to get your name out there and find something to be known for.

Cons

Oracle Dublin is an amazing place to work overall. Currently there are parts of the business changing incredibly fast. While this always brings opportunity it can make for a tough start if you prefer something more stable.. Overall however if you are adverse to change - Oracle is not the place for you..
