      Easy money, good place to hide until retirement!

      Cons

      Too big, too slow, truly awful internal systems and software. For instance I worked abroad and had to submit all timesheets and expenses twice. Once for my home country and once for the 'billing' country. Everything outsourced to India, I accidentally submitted a timesheet twice, to get it reversed I had to get 7 approvals and supply the guy in india with the row_ids of the timesheets to delete directly on the database.

      Pros

      Stock price ... rocks! Company has great benefits, good pay. Diversity of employees; telecommuting options; commuter benefits; parking benefits; 401k match, good vision and dental coverage; lots of opportunities for promotion and travel. Immense growth potential. Company will soon be #1 following the oracle merger. That was a merger made in heaven.

      Oracle, a decent place to work

      Pros

      If a consultant wants or needs to 'come off the road' Oracle provides many opportunities to accomplish this. other consulting firms its the road or the highway

      Cons

      In many ways Oracle doesn't know how to deal with consultants. They were and are a great database company and probably should have stayed in that business. Once PeopleSoft was purchased they should have dropped the line of Oracle HR software and embraced PeopleSoft software.
