Pros

Oracle has been consistently profitable which translates into a stable work environment. The pay and benefits are pretty good and my co-workers are a very smart group of engineers.

Cons

Unfortunately, stability often feels like you are a just a cog in a machine with limited ability to work on interesting projects. Some parts of the company are poorly managed, with a disregard for accurate schedules, planning, or accountability.

Pros

Compensation is good, flexible work schedule.

Cons

The hierarchical and siloed organization makes it hard to innovate from an engineering point of view. Communication is not very open. Getting anything done (like getting hardware/travel, etc) takes a ridiculous number of approvals, all way up to senior management.
