Pros

If you are mid level professional planning to move to settled and family lifestyle organisation this is for you. Less work stress Good place for self learner Many low salary professionals use oracle as a medium to get good package then work for sometime later go to high paid companies. No timesheet monitoring. Campus life is usually better than other locations

Cons

All the managers have company stocks and work for organisation atleast 15 to 20+. Settled mindset and not much of fire wrt work. Loves to blabber about their families and kids. You are an alien if you are bachelor. Partiality based on no of years you are in team. Technologically backward. You cannot clear interviews if you work on oracle products. IIIT, IIT and NITs and BITS better to avoid joining here waste starting years of your career. Anyway you will quit after 2 years. Not easy to promote to managers because existing one won’t move out and they kind of wait for retirement or to get fired for good bonus. Technical side you can grow till IC4 or maybe IC5. Focal cycle is not followed strictly and employees never know if HQ management gives focal or not. On average you need to wait for 2.5 years to get promotion. Roles like project lead is just for name sake you will never learn how project leader should or never get a chance to lead the team.

Embrace the suck

Pros

Good benefit package. Health insurance is reasonably priced. The 401k could be better. They offer employee assistance.

Cons

The culture at Oracle is to embrace the suck. Long hours are expected. Employees live with a constant fear of layoffs. There's little organization and it's a sink-or-swim situation. Upper management is reactionary, rather than proactive, and completely tone deaf. The company doesn't have managers, they have micromanagers. Many bounce from division to division with no relevant experience in the particular area in which they find themselves. Although the company is doing great financially, the legend is true: raises don't happen. The only way to get any significant salary bump is to be promoted (also rare) or to leave the company and come back. Many policies and direction happen on an executive's whim and the rantings of Larry, who seems more worried about his legacy and his influence than innovating. And let's face it, he runs the company. And he never fails to mention that he lives in Hawaii (on his own island). Often the work you put in to create and implement their vision is wasted because they simply decide to tank it or move on to something else. For a technology company, the technology for employees is sub-par.

Dishonest, Inconsistent, No Autonomy (anymore)

Pros

We have free vitamin water, iced tea, tea options and coke.

Cons

They have never been a company of their word. They said we would be remote. We’re not. They said we would be 2 days a week. That changed. They said we had the option to go the accout management route or the account executive role after 12 months. They changed that. You are now forced into one of those roles depending on what type of BDR you are PLUS the promotion process is now an 18 month long process with minimal to no training. Upper management will be kind to your face and pretend everyone is family, but then trash talk every employee there is. It is not a safe space. Lastly, do not believe them when they say they have faith in a strong next few months. Do not believe them if they say there will be no more layoffs. It is a real shame that the company has gone downhill so fast, it used to be so great.
