Pros
There is an over abundance of tools to do my job, Many projects are being run and if one volunteers he will get an opportunity to be involved in the project. There is access to good documents that help in learning and growing for the self driven. There is an e learning portal skillsoft that can prepare one for industry certifications.
Cons
The work environment and career development are wholly dependent on the line manager. If you have an insecure boss there is no career growth. There is no program to identify potential stars and groom them for the next level of management or specialization. The working environment is process bound process is king even in exceptional circumstances.
