Pros
Friendly environment, generally flexible. Often working with cool technology.
Cons
HR staff are useless and buildings have poor facilities. Processes are prevent things from being done internally. As a results the best work is outsourced to achieve good time to market but remains poorly integrated. No chance of any creativity in the work place, you must stick to the process. Lots and lots and lots contractors who are just there for the money. Very old fashioned "top down" management, along with poor leadership and communication Quite often given responsibility for things but not given authority to change anything to make things better
