Pros

The company is pretty good. Great co-workers, great team leader. Good office space. Good salary. Awesome that they hire fresh out of college grads.

Cons

Management can sometimes be unfair in who they promote. Your entire future career is in the hands of one person. Job security is lacking. I don’t recommend being in the CRC position for more than a year (max two) because of the huge (and often boring) workload. During the study, everything is dependent on you so even if you make a small mistake, you will be blamed harshly. Makes sense for issues regarding patient safety and data, but otherwise small irrelevant issues shouldn’t be a huge deal as they often make it out to be. There isn’t much advancement other than being a research team leader which will require you to work almost 24/7. This position is generally not worth it and I recommend being a clinical data associate at PPD instead. That is the best entry level job position in my opinion.

Pros

This company gives you everything you need to flourish. I have worked here for four years (beginning with my very first clinical research position) and have I feel that I been given all of the necessary tools to excel. I don’t understand the posts about work life balance because that is what you make it. This company certainly gives you ample amount of PTO and resources to turn to if needed. I have really enjoyed working here with lots of wonderful colleagues. Great internal processes and clinical systems/applications.

Cons

The nature of the work can be taxing, especially in a traveling position.
