Pros

PPD has several entry level positions for college grads with a variety of advancement opportunities. The research team environment is fun, open and hours are very flexible.

Cons

Salary is low compared to almost all other CROs leading to a significant amount of turnover in every department. Most people who accept the jobs are doing to gain experience so they can apply elsewhere.

Pros

having a job in todays economy work from home unlimited company mobile phone

Cons

All projects underbid in terms of hours to accomplish tasks - then employees hard squeezed to deliver in unrealistic time. If not able to pull it off by working extra for free penalised with demoralizing "annual performance assessments" and no raise at all Constantly working 1.5 FTEs for 1 FTE pay (at about 90% of industry average pay/compensation) Superficial involvement with far too many projects at any time to really get to know the project in depth and provide quality, well informed service Unreaslistic timelines for deliverables, inability to plan anything, unexpected work routinely dumped all of a sudden without any notice, Day to day work feels like putting out fires and managing emergencies most of the time Barely enough time to accomplish tasks at all, let at all provide excellent service, one can be proud of Zero recognition for hard work Pay barely keeps up to date with inflation (and that if your annual assessment "exceeds expectations" only) Rather boring, repetitive tasks at a relatively senior level - lack of satisfaction from using your knowledge Very high turnover - after 3 years you feel like a company dinosaur Promotion not based on merit but on "not saying the wrong things" to your superiors, and not questioning anything Favroritism - some get away with doing barely any work, constantly on leaves and their work gets dumped on others who are in turn not adequately rewarded for extra work Lack of company vision/pride in working for a great company
