Support Staff

Pros

For the most part, great coworkers, pretty good benefits, perks like free donuts. Good starting lab job. I've found that a lot of people like it for the first couple years then begin to hate it.

Cons

As posted in other reviews, people who are awful at their jobs are promoted for some reason. A lot of it has to do with politics and who likes you. You can barely work but yet if you're friends with certain people you can work your way up quickly while those who actually do all the work get nothing and often take all the blame for mistakes. Which you shouldn't make. Even the simplest mistakes that don't cost the company money can bring severe punishment. Management is cutting support staff to the bone to make themselves look good.

Much Better than Covance Across Town

Pros

Higher salaries then Covance. More reasonable work life balance. Decent co-workers. Interesting work. Better surroundings. Most of my supervisors were good. Nice diversity of people. Met people from all over the world. Good commitment to quality assurance.

Cons

Clients could be very demanding. Unreasonable deadlines, due to promises made to clients. A couple of really nasty and lazy workers.

Get your foot in the door

Pros

Flexible schedule, good manager, PTO, holidays, free coffee, onsite gym, onsite catering company. Starting out it was great everyone worked really hard and there was room to move up and grow in the industry.

Cons

Low pay. No room to grow anymore, major cutbacks, place is a ghost town. Poor communication, low morale, no job stability AT ALL. Stuck where you are right now unless willing to relocate.
