      Trying to take on Google; doesn't have the upper management to succeed

      Pros

      Smart, motivated, technical people "in the trenches" making great products. Generous PTO policy Work / life balance is easy to maintain

      Cons

      Constantly shifting vision - the current flavor of the month is IoT (Internet of things) Upper management seems clueless to the reality that the company culture they're trying to steer in a new direction is entrenched - they can't turn the company into the next hot startup just by wishing hard and giving us all a 2 hour training course No raises except the occasional cost of living adjustment which comes so infrequently that salaries are declining vs. inflation

      Pros

      You get a lot thrown at you, have tons of opportunity to take on a lot, do different things, and take more responsibility. It's a big place and there's always stuff to be done. The markets they are in are growing and relatively exciting. It's a good place to gain experience if you don't mind the quarterly strategy shift and the subsequent RIF.

      Cons

      The constant, frenetic change is exhausting. Extremely high turnover, no promotions, and shifting priorities. Limited training opportunities. This company excels at lay offs. Seriously, they have it down to a science. You'll get additional work or an expanded role, but don't expect a title change or extra compensation for it.

      Good ideas. Usually 1 a week. Could result in world domination ...

      Cons

      ... inability to stick to a few ideas and see it through. Every month there is a new direction. Layoffs every few months.
