The old boys network runs the place. New ideas are not well accepted. Evaluations are popularity contests. The bottom third of your peers (job title group) are at risk every evaluation period. Doing a good job is not what is judged. Low pay and lots of work is the norm. My cautionary tale is from a dinner with the CEO. His best story of the evening was about a guy working for a VP who was promoted but was having a hard time at his new job. The VP thought highly of the individual and what to find the right job for the person. The CEO told the VP not to waste their time, just fire him. You may form your own opinion. The idea of advancement is also just a tease. Like other companies PTC has its training academy. To goal is to keep a fresh batch coming so they can be used and discarded at will.
