Pros

I'd like to start by saying that PepsiCo is a great company to learn a lot very quickly. The company is very fast paced and you will be given a lot of opportunity to demonstrate value early on. Additionally, most people who you interact with will generally be friendly (albeit drowning in work and very busy).

Cons

The work life balance can be very poor depending on team (and if anyone else has exited the organization recently). If there are unfilled roles, you can expect to be pulling the weight of not only your job but multiple other jobs at the same time. (This had happened to me when I did not have a direct manager and a few partners on the team also left the organization at the same time). Additionally, the organization has an "over alignment" culture which leads to hours of meetings, emails, and can slow initiatives progress. While it is great to have stakeholder feedback, there are some leaders that feel entitled to weigh in on anything and everything even if it is completely unrelated to their area.

Pros

- Benefits and pay are great - Work from home - Design is simple, do not need advanced creative skills (could be a positive or negative)

Cons

- Competitive team. Every person makes a design and they are put against each other (on my team at least- there are many teams that have different dynamics) - Stealing from team members is encouraged, doesn't matter who came up with the idea- just who has the best version. - No leadership, just high expectations and judgement (on my team) - Design work is very boring and safe, but we are asked to do creative work that won't get used. The safest, more predictable option is always chosen. - The projects can always be boiled down to "make the logo bigger" or don't distract from the current look - No onboarding process or use of the file management system. Have to ask who has certain files or logos and ask people individually as you need things- but there is a file management system that everything could be on, it just isn't used properly.

Pros

Great benefits, PTO, and job security

Cons

You’ll have to train yourself on almost everything. Managers try to keep you in one position forever if they don’t want you to move bc the policy is if you want to move to a different position you have to notify your current manager. You’ll get a 2% raise no matter how you performed in the year. They never give more, which is a slap in the face. You’ll do the job of 5 people combined and they’ll refuse to pay you for it. I could say more, but please if you work here, only work for Gatorade and Frito Lay Sectors.
