Pros

I used to enjoy working for Frito Lay as an RSR. The hours were long and the work was hard, but the money to be made from commission was good. Then we just found out that the company is restructuring and our jobs in the large format stores are being completely cut. Now we have the choice of getting on a truck if we can (most can't because of seniority) or taking an hourly position with no commission, which is a 35-50% pay cut. Frito Lay has posted record profits the past few years, but they keep devaluing their workers.

Cons

The company does not value its workers, plain and simple. Some of our guys have been working there for 20 years and are having their livelihood taken away when it's too late to begin somewhere else. Imagine going from $65,000/year to $33,000/year for doing the same kind of work. No room for advancement. No performance/merit-based raises, you'll make the same for working hard as the joker who doesn't. Do not work for this company if you can avoid it--your efforts will not be rewarded. And if you work for Frito Lay and this hasn't happened in your zone yet, HEADS UP! There will be a nationwide rollout. Look at Kansas City for examples. No more RSRs, now just Customer Service Specialists (merchandisers with added responsibilities making hourly pay around 16 bucks/hour).

Pros

Excellent Pay You get 150 INR everyday to buy lunch/breakfast/snacks Most of people that have been hired in GD&A come from good organisations, are smart and very approachable Leadership is very approachable. No cubicles Access to PepsiCo branded snacks Great office infrastructure. Best in class meeting rooms, collaboration tools, etc. Free company transport. Best in class cabs

Cons

Healthcare benefits not the best. 4 L coverage for employee and dependents across all levels. Parents cannot be covered. You need to pay additional out of pocket to cover parents. It's a little away from Hi-Tech city. Almost 12-15 kms away There is not enough work right now. As a result for the last more than 6 months, we come to office, while away time and then go home. The planning to transition work has not been the greatest which has started to bother most of the people Parking spaces are limited and level based. Not everyone can park their 4 wheelers and 2 wheelers and are advised to use company transport, which can be a real challenge for many - say you have to drop a kid at school or have a parent that you are caring for or have to drop your spouse to office or pick them up Leadership hiring has been a little bit of a mess. Not a very awe inspiring, though provoking leadership. We have hired more managers than leaders and there is a huge difference in both Processes are not very organised. Part of that is due to lack of good leaders who are unable to put processes in place and streamline things Hiring issues - People from same orgs and same levels have been hired at different levels at PepsiCo and sometimes there is a skip level difference Referral responses are very low. I.e. if you refer someone, you need to constantly follow up to get status but sometimes even after multiple follow ups, you don't get the status Flexibility challenges. The organisation mentions that it's not a flexible organisation because it is a start up at HYD. WFH is limited. Everyone is expected to be in office for 8-9 hours even though there is no/limited work

Pros

Brand Value if you look like a job seeker.

Cons

Set up is the worst in HYD, Insecure and micro-managed work culture. Unorganized and inefficient people are sitting in positions of authority. Everything comes in the last moment and output is expected ASAP. Your motivation will be kicked with crazy people management styles who don't have relevant experience. Ego is ample, never ever try to lead things even when you have opportunity, you will be crushed to the core even before you realize. Just be "Yes Boss" types and do stupid things to survive.
