Pros

Better than average salary Ok benefits Work from home (pandemic related) Most direct inner team relationships are good (you are elbow to elbow and sweating with these folks)

Cons

Leadership down to some middle management is disconnected with the reality of individual business, division and department needs. They talk past employees and reality in platitudes as if the organization works on words over planning and action. Philips has a general attitude that everything can be done the same way and all systems, business processes and businesses can be configured and run the same way regardless if you are selling pencils or luxury automobiles. They constantly challenge a business and market’s desire to manage their own processes causing extended projects, poor solutions, inefficient operations and a disenfranchised workforce. Project management has no concept of the time, scope, money triangle. They introduce their own significant scope creep and without extending time, adding resources or adding development cycles to support it, and still expect a perfect project landing. Add an off-shored IT model which is severely disconnected from the business, and manages to KPIs versus business needs, and you add another layer which is discounted from the business. Lastly, Sales and Marketing are rarely aligned. Marketing will develop and run with fledging ideas before developing an executable process with their Sales partners leaving room for confusion, finger pointing and frustration.

Pros

Nothing compared to competitors .

Cons

Project/Team name . IBE . Location Bangalore . Harassment & bullying . Ill-treatment by Managers. Favorism at peek. Recruitment is flawed. Rigged. Interviews are rigged. Manager driven company. Toxic management. Onsite opportunities are given to favorite employees. Diversity is encouraged vs talent. Non technical people become managers and play with technical guys careers. Do search for the news about an employee who committed suicide by jumping from top floor of the office building due to bullying and harassments. Don't stay back if they promise to retain you with the same offer if you get high paying job outside . They will say we will give same hike or send you to USA and and instead fire you for under performance. Ex Story: I was put in a sinking boat which I saved and sailed to the shore. During the time for rewards I was appreciated and was seen as an SME but a MGR's favorite kid of only 3 yrs exp was made team lead and is bossing around the ICs who actually worked and delivered the product. If you are good at work, you will be given maximum work but promotions and hike will be given to someone else . On resigning the Manager threatened me not to report anything to HR else will not approve full and final settlement and you will not get experience letter. How do you decide if the company is good or bad?- on how they treat their employees who are leaving. Every employee gets a box of chocolate during birthday but this will stop if you are on notice period. Bonus will not be given and rating will be marked as low performer just because you are leaving. Harassment during team meetings, mocking and personal comments passed by senior manager who is now the Director at IBE Philips Bangalore . When you try to return assets : they will falsely accuse of damaging the hardware and extort money . Asked to return the laptop bag, coffee mug and water bottle also :) . If you don't pay and return all these you will not be given the resignation acceptance / experience letter. you cannot think of growth in your career if you join this company . you belong where the manager decides where you should be in terms of salary, level . Manager preaches weird topics during team meetings which he calls as motivational sessions . What I recall from our sessions : " Don't run after money and don't try job outside the company even if we under pay you " Don't go against any manager else we will ruin your career . Manager joins us for lunch ( only ladies ) and advises us on family planning and having children. This is what he is discussing with a newly married female employee. We cant report or escalate these issues because this manager is in the company for 15+ years and has powers. We saw an employee get fired for reporting against the malpractice of this manager. Any employee having an opinion of his own will be criticized and insulted in team meetings in front of entire team. I don't recommend joining this company where such managers are working.

North American Market Is Crumbling

Pros

The employees, at least those who are still there...

Cons

- NA leadership has very little experience. - The installation of Lean principles into the sales force. - Company morale is in the tank and no one at the top cares. - The company is incapable of collecting it's AR, consistently. - Continued mass exodus of leaders who know what they're doing. In summary: New NA CEO is destroying the company. During your interview, ask why so many of the NA executives have left in the last 12 months. The product quality is suspect and they're trying to drive Lean principles into the wrong parts of the organization. Do yourself a favor, stay away!
