Lots of changes afoot; not all of them good

Pros

The company has great technology and is firmly established in its industry. The employees are generally passionate about the industry and their ability to contribute to it. The global nature of the business makes it possible to experience multiple cultures and expat opportunities.

Cons

The company has been going through nearly continuous restructuring for the past 2 years. It is hard to tell what the strategy and long-term plan is - and how these changes are aligned with that. Increasingly, employees are not given the space to contribute at the level of their capabilities. Morale is down and the combination of low morale and continuous restructuring has many strong performers leaving the company.

Pros

a job. fellow fse's only 'true' alliance.

Cons

you could be 'the best fse' in the region, but if you're metrics aren't to expectations, you'll NEVER be recognized for your contributions. no 'long term' management - full of 5 to 6 year 'fast-trackers' not truely interested in you or your customers. priorities, make their numbers, at any expense, and move on to another job - either within or out of philips. POOR salary compensation, with regard to their own 'published' salary brackets.

Pros

Passionate employees who will go on no matter what.

Cons

Management straight out of a Dilbert cartoon. No knowledge, no vision, no empathy, no social skills, no appreciation for their employees nor for their customers. Management consists primarily of yesheads, just there for their own careers, kiss the bosses and kick the working force. Too much focus on procedures, no focus on customer or product. Reducing on creativity, knowledge and expertise, expanding on talentless spreadsheet managers.
