Pros

Great Way to Obtain experience in engineering while going to school. Ability to talk to really smart people and get perspective that school can't provide.

Cons

Slow work flow sometimes, especially when dealing with vendors, and other engineers overseas. Quality process is too slow.

Pros

Good pay, flexible hours, innovative work, relative autonomy in my group, fantastic job security for all employees (to the point where there should be more turnover), all the opportunities that come from working for a big global company. My group is fantastic and there is definitely a communal atmosphere amongst the 100 or so people that we work closely with.

Cons

Frustrating bureaucracy, lots of slow moving bodies in the business, IT in particular is pretty bad. In my specific office/branch, it is painfully obvious that much of upper management is an old boys club and this often leads to questionable at best decision making in how engineering time is spent. Also, I swear our marketing people are actually costing us money

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience as elaborate as you have. It is great to hear that you would recommend us as an employer. We understand that sometimes decision-making could take some time. As we are a large global organization, certain plans need to be run by different teams as they develop. If you do have any ideas to speed certain aspects of this process up, we would definitely encourage you to share these with the managing personal. Furthermore we are very happy to hear that you have become that close with your team. We do believe this to be the key to success. It’s also good to hear that you’re happy with the work/life balance and the benefits and pay that the company has to offer.
