Pros

-Make friends -Salary -Lots to do so time goes fast -Can talk whilst on the job

Cons

-Not a place I would recommend as a first job, it's too stressing. -Nasty/dirty place and rude customers -Easy to climb up to supervisor -Management don't care nor understand us and just walk around using their phones, thinking their above you -People who work with you are nosey and love gossip. -No benefits..staff only get 10% off at Christmas time.

Pros

I work with a lot of very nice friendly people. The store is new and modern and kept very clean by the cleaners.

Cons

The pay is low, only minimum wage, the managers get a bonus at Christmas but the rest of the staff don't. Staff are worked very hard and quite often there are not enough staff members on the sales floor due to the company trying to cut back on costs in order to meet targets. Some of the managers are not very nice to the staff. If you are one minute late clocking in you have a minutes pay deducted from your wages. The managers often make you stay up to 15 minutes after your shift has ended but you get no extra pay for this. Often staff members are asked to be relief supervisors but do not get paid supervisor rates during this time. There is definitely an us and them culture and I know that the managers are told not to tell staff how much they earn or that they get bonuses. We don't get staff discount apart from 2 weeks at Christmas when we are given 10% discount. We have to buy our own uniform and are told off if our shirts, which are black, fade in the wash and are told to buy new which for a student on minimum wage is a big chunk out of their wages.

Pros

Meeting lots of new people due to the high turnover rate. Constantly busy, time passes quickly.

Cons

Boring and repetitive work. No discounts or other benefits for part time employees.
