Pros

Is there any pro to working at Primark?

Cons

Worst place I've ever worked! The hierarchy at Primark is absolutely ridiculous and it's disgusting how much the managers and supervisors try to abuse their position. Supervisors are extremely critical and notice every little thing you do wrong, but if you do anything right or when you're working really hard and putting in a lot of effort you don't get any positive feedback, not even a simple thank you. Our bags are checked before we leave the store. Even on days when I'm not working and I come to the store to shop the security guards still go through all my things! It borders on harassment. My supervisor was so critical to me one day I had to go to the bathroom to cry. The customers that shop here are the most low life, trailer trash people you will ever meet in your life, and even they treat you like your beneath them. Customers are disrespectful, managers and supervisors are disrespectful, basically you're just treated awful. Friends of mine asked if they could have my hours after I quit, but HR told them they were just going to hire new people. They hire new people instead of giving hours to the people who are already experienced! The environment in the store is just absolutely awful. Fortunately I've found a new job and can move on from here.

Pros

Pays better than most Store Manager positions. Not a difficult job to do. Fast paced so days go quickly. Opportunities to work abroad or around the UK for new store openings.

Cons

Always lots of vacancies, which means you're constantly chasing your tail. Hard to manage time to get done the incredible work load expected of managers. 'Favourites' are pushed through progression whilst others are overlooked. High salary traps you in job.
