      Staff are generally treated badly by management

      Pros

      Pay isn't too bad for a basic retail job. The team is generally friendly, and there is possibility for overtime

      Cons

      Staff are almost always denied holiday time, after management demands to know why you want the time off. Made to sign in and out at the start and end of shift. Poor breaks that aren't paid. Often contracts with very few hours

      Primark - ok as a stop-gap...

      Pros

      Work with a nice group of people, 10% discount in the lead up to Christmas, management mostly caring and understanding towards employees circumstances

      Cons

      Often understaffed, four hour shifts, minimum wage, rude customers, hire lots of younger teenage staff with poor attitudes and not much work ethic, virtually no career progression, monotonous work, discount only around Christmas

      Pros

      The staff is great, I love my colleagues, everyone is helpful, the atmosphere is great. Managers, supervisors are super nice too. The environment is always busy so we never bored.

      Cons

      Seems like we always short of staff, have to do 2 people's job sometimes. It can be tiring.
