Cons

There are so many problems with this company in how it's run, there's a reason why there's such a high turn-over rate. Here's a whole list of problems I've experienced first-hand from my employment: - Induction training is half-assed, training was 5 hours long and only about 5% of it was useful. The person who did training was just reading off a powerpoint and it wasn't catered towards different roles. I was shown how to transport stock when I wasn't working anywhere near the stockroom. - Inconsistent rules, managers will tell you how things are supposed to be run but then they go against their own words. For example, returns must be within the return date but yet managers will allow returns weeks and sometimes months after the date. Another is how a receipt is needed for a return but nope, managers will refund customers even without a receipt. - Bias towards green-horns, if you are new to the company you get the short end of the stick in every regard. Not only are not entitled to sick pay until you work for the company for >6 months, but nothing will be set up for you. For example, to clock in and out of work you need your hand print but higher ups won't bother adding your hand print to the system. Another example is Zing, it's the place for news and info but an account will not be made when you newly join. This leads to the next point. - No communication, the only contact detail you will get is the store phone number to call in sick. As a result, if you're new, the only way to get updates is talking to the older staff or reading the many papers they plaster on the walls. This is made worst when trying to get overtime, you need to ask a line manager for what days you want instead of being shown available slots. Good luck with that though as line managers are never around when it's quiet to discuss overtime. - Favouritism, managers clearly have favourites and it's made most apparent when they nit pick on every little mistake you make. It doesn't matter that you have to scan, bag, count, push products, and have small talk with the customers, managers will blow things out of proportion. - Managers, although not all, but you will have a fair share of managers who are just lazy. They will bark orders at you but will have no problem talking to their favs while they do nothing productive.
