Childhood Dream Company Crushed

Pros

The great company values, the flexibility to maintain work-life balance, can be independent, a wholesome package of competitive salary and benefits package, the rare group of good people.

Cons

Too much focus on Managers, too little on A&Ts. The tests that we have to take to be a permanent employee in this company ensures that only one type of people are hired. Which can be sad because then people have this thinking that they are "better" than the rest. Everybody is too busy to be human. It has become a very much my-cubicle-only environment.

Pros

Very talented people. Decent compensation, especially profit sharing, if hired prior to change in the contribution scale. Decent benefits

Cons

Overall benefits have declined over the years: Healthcare costs continue to increase, Retirement benefits have declined as well. Forced tacked ranking is used. Recent head count reductions have caused stagnant promotions, as each band level is too full. Salary increases become almost non-existent if you have been "at band" for over 7 years. There is no "cost of living" increase, so over time, you may actually be earning less. P&G seems to be struggling with attracting and retaining the newer generation who want more control over their career. They don't rely on the premiss that P&G will always watch out for them and that they will have a life long career with them.
