Pros

It is a great company to work for in case no one has heard that before. Plenty of opportunities for advancement and no internal politics at all. It is a utopian meritocracy.

Cons

Well it is big and slow to make decisions, I bet no one would have anticipated that from PG. They are beholden to WM for what that is worth, another profound insight.

Pros

Very flexible & supportive when I wanted to move to a reduced hours schedule for family reasons. Real focus on personal development and rarely have someone looking over my sholder to see what I'm doing. Key measure is what you deliver for the business over a 12 month period, not what you're doing each minute of the day. Long service within the company is rewarded with good salary & benefits. The company really values diversity & looks to take employees from as wide a range of backgrounds as it can, to ensure it reflects its comsumer base as much as it can.

Cons

Very ridged promotion system. If you come in at the lower entry level (still a graduate entry level!), it is almost impossible to move into management levels in less than 10 years, regardless of your talent. Inward looking company that carries a (perhaps justified) arrogance that it is the best, so has little to learn from outside. Lack of transparency - company like to hide its salary banding, employee ratings etc from all except those managing salaries - what don't they trust us with this information?
