Pros

Great place to start. Loads of opportunities to learn and grow within the company. Responsibilities are given as of day one and you'll be in charge of your business. Visibility to top management through presentations and reviews and good training opportunities. Great salary and compensation with quick progression if performing.

Cons

Very internally focused. People think P&G is everything and tend not to value what other companies do. Promote from within has its limitations with no renewal. Fierce competition for promotions does not always has positive effects, especially on athmosphere between colleagues. P&G is not a risk taker which can be a bit frustrating sometimes

Pros

When i was initially looking for jobs I had many many opportunities presented to me. The reason i choose Procter is because i can learn all the technical skills in the world, but leadership skills are something very hard to come by and Procter only focuses on hiring and developing world class leadership talent.

Cons

Cincinnati, OH although a medium sized city can be a bit of a downer. The public transportation sucks. In the company itself you have to hit the ground running and you often work many more then 40 hours a week. I suggest that you take a hard look at your life and decide if your ready to start running with some of the most competitive and inteligent people in the world because your life is going to be put on the back burner for the first couple of years.

Pros

learn a lot about the PAIN of working with a highly bureaucratic organization. Need to be very lucky to meet a manager with good leadership skill.

Cons

it was a mistake to work for P&G. It is totally different from what I expected. Many inexperienced undergraduates were promoted to band 2 manager. Because of the promote from within culture, many other professionals with outside experience must start from the bottom and have to deal with these narrow-minded, arrogant folks. They treat entry-level employee very bad. They even fired employee whose spouse was 9-month pregnant. Overall, it is not a good place to work. Lots of politics played in many decision-makings. It is naive to believe that they act based on their principles and values.
