Pros

Great opportunities to work in different categories and different geographies Great training ground for marketing/general management Amazing talent in most functions Purpose, Values and Principles provide a solid foundation for the company Great brands

Cons

Too much of the career path is determined by who you know and where you work in your first assignment, which is assigned randomly Middle management (Associate Directors/Directors) create internal swirl, slowing down work for the project team Hard to get promoted beyond Brand Manager

Pros

The culture amongst the operators and engineers is good. Some of the lead management team isn't too bad either. Salary is great, considering it's the manufacturing industry and lets face it (the site I work in only produces perfume.. We're not saving any lives here)... However, considering the 12 hour days, pretty much every day, you end up making less than what some make, flipping burgers at McDonald's!

Cons

Unbelievably long hours! Tiring! If you join as an engineer, don't be surprised when you have to clean floors and wipe boards when the big guns come to the site for a visit. You are the lowest of the lowest. And every so often, you'll have to work as an operator for a couple of hours a day. This helps their productivity results. But at the end of the day, you're still expected to have your daily responsibilities done anyway. All it takes is for you to stay at work an extra couple of hours every freaking day!

Pros

Excellent at project management and lots of resources at your disposal to execute good ideas. Great training for smart people right out of college on strategy development, execution and analytical evaluation. P&G is great at identifying young professionals with high aptitude and then training them to be leaders.

Cons

If you didn't start your career there, you are basically treated like a domestic servant. You're needed, but you'll never be part of the family, and thus, your career very quickly will bump into a glass ceiling that you will never raise. If job security is what motivates you, you'll be happy. If advancement opportunities are desired, you will be very frustrated.
