Pros

Smart people, good benefits for Principals and above

Cons

coffee... it was great until they went to these automated coffee vending machines. Aside from it being crap, they some ungodly reason they limited the serving sizes. Why would you limit coffee to your engineers!!!

Pros

Your experience may vary widely by division, but in general some things are done well: Automatic header files from RTL Capital expenditure for HW, SW, FPGA emulation Automatic build, boot, some CI infrastructure

Cons

QCT specially is very process heavy QC just lost its entire custom CPU core team after they bungled the Datacenter division: huge blunder for a chip company to lose its entire custom CPU team.. bleeding talent right now Core teams do work, and then there are root teams per customer A lot of QCT firmware teams don't like to adopt standards/open source software Linux development is very process heavy with small things needing legal approval Management was great under founders, but progressively losing its way: current "leaders" are in panic mode and if they go down route of 30 billion dollars buy backs, that's the beginning of the end Even after layoffs, still a lot of fat in SD, lots of layers of mgmt, too many status collectors
