Pros

There are many great co workers that are very helpful if you are starting in your career. The benefits are great. It works on the 9/80 schedule, so you get every other friday off. The scheduling is also very lenient as you can take time off whenever you need to. You also get two weeks off at the end of the year, around december time which is one of the best benefits.

Cons

Senior management seems very disconnected and does not care about the workers. They don't understand what goes on in the engineering side, and cares just about the money, not about the quality.

Pros

9/80 Work week - Flex Time

Cons

Negotiate the best possible salary when you first start working here otherwise your career is limited as the company doesn't allow individuals to easily move to another position the may be qualified for because of the existing paygrade. Company doesn't seem to want to promote from within - - - they hire new hires off the street and pay them substantially more money and managers flat out tell you to quit a year and then come back if you are wanting more money.

Pros

Raytheon is full of a rapidly aging workforce that is well overdue to be retired, thus leaving alot of opportunities for new hires to move up the food chain quickly. Raytheon is very flexible with work hours, puts education first, and encourages a healthy balance between work and life. They also offer a 9/80 work week program allowing you to enjoy a nice 3 day weekend every other week as well as 12 paid off holidays a year. Other than that, Raytheon offers your typical corporate benefits package, with a nice 100% matching 401K plan up to I believe 3% of your salary.

Cons

With the rapidly aging workforce comes the massive overload of outdated policies and procedures that make doing even the simplest task take way longer than necessary. In theory, this practice is to increase the "quality" of the end product or service, but in actuality, in my opinion, only succeeds in increasing the cost while either maintaining the same quality or arguably DECREASING the quality. Most of the senior engineers whom are only still here because they got locked into a pension plan that was done away with 25 years or so ago, spend most of their time debating who knows the outdated process better.
