Pros

I was pay very well and learn a life lesson that pay is not everything.

Cons

You are an object, a peg, something to be used up and throw away. Management talks about work life balance. There is none. They will call you at the hospital, At 2am on vacation, at night. They will cancel your vacation. GPS OCX is the worst. I had to stand in line to turn in my badge after I quit.

Pros

The best reasons to work at Raytheon is that they are fully involved in cutting edge technologies and they offer many locations across the United States as well as International locations. They treat you like a professional. If you are technical, you can stay technical; you do not have to go into Management in order to progress in your career.

Cons

Some of the downsides of working at Raytheon are that the available of jobs goes up or down depending upon the economy. When it comes time for reduction in force, sometimes the more seasoned individuals may get caught up in a layoff because at lean times, only extremely "value added" positions are "safe".

Pros

Due to the skill specialization, Raytheon values its people, very low attrition. Very good base salary and stability.

Cons

Narrow (but highly technical) technology stack. If you like tough real-time code development challenges this is the place for you, but do not expect to be working on trendy mobile/internet applications anytime soon (as is true of defense industry as a whole).
