Pros

NONE. Constantly waiting on other people to review and approve changes... I've been on a project that was supposed to have been done in a month or 2 it's it's been over 2 years. And this is just documentation changes. No one can make a decision, people change their minds constantly, it take forever to accomplish anything. The processes are old and tedious and no one wants to change anything.

Cons

The benefits are horrible, especially the medical. Worst company and worst work environment I've ever been in.

Defense is usually complacency

Pros

The name of the company is good and they have a really good further education program for grad school. They also have extra courses that is catered towards your job and more taught but other good engineers. I do believe if you want to go into RF this might be a good place to learn plus co-workers will likely be some of the smartest people you can work with. There is a café area with food that is pricey but is great if you were to forget your lunch.

Cons

Outside of the benefits of working within defense along with being within the RF field that's where the Pros ends. A lot of the workers are the older managers would bully and belittle their team. Since the company moves at a snails pace, it might not be worth it to stand up to them. The technology you would be working with is extremely dated, so be aware you would likely be complacent within the software world if you're not in the RF field. The place is can be great if you are on projects that has a large budget but if you're in testing/sustaining you would barely have any budget to do your job. My advice, if you're not a pure hardware engineer you won't be learning much in terms of stay relevant within the field. If you're fresh out of college, it would be a good place to go while you look for another job or transfer within another team based on your interest. The pay within the company would not be great compared to being within the commercial world.

Pros

Every other Friday off, and the week between Christmas and New Year's

Cons

Outrageous career development - you are advised to apply for other jobs if you wish to get a promotion; very rare to see promotions in place unless you're friends with management Terrible health insurance Abysmal Human Resources Crushing bureaucracy and red tape Extremely slow pace of work with nebulous results Depressing, disgusting facilities with zero incentive for anyone to go in every day
