      Raytheon Missile Systems needs some work.

      Pros

      If you are a hard worker and willing to promote yourself and search out work, then Raytheon has quite a bit of interesting things to work on. Lots of cutting edge technology being developed.

      Cons

      The management obviously treats employees as if they don't matter. Some management people insulate their incompetence by promoting other incompetent people. Management makes promises they have no intention of keeping in regard to rewarding employees for their hard work. There are also a lot of lazy people that work there.

      Pros

      Opportunities for travel are the biggest benefit, with tickets to South America and New Zealand included in the deployment package. IT is becoming more and more difficult, however, to arrange personal travel around your redeployment date without having to pay additional fees and costs.

      Cons

      Poor communication, no respect for contract workers, few opportunities for training or growth, long work hours with little compensation, poor feedback on job performance, little to no value on morale. There is a basic disrespect from upper level management that is felt throughout the company. The company has also been hiring more and more ex-military personnel as their upper level leaders. The majority of the workers are not from a militery background and do not respond well to being treated as if they are part of a strict hierarchical workforce.

      Pros

      They are the only game in town; no other employer is available for this type of work. Work hours and work days can be quite flexible.

      Cons

      A lack of communication from management to new employees. Assumptions about knowledge that new employees may or may not bring with them to the job. Confusing briefings by "human resources" people. Human resources" people. Corporate culture is a shock to former federal employees.
