Pros

I really like working for Raytheon in Tucson. I started as a Hughes employee in 1997, but no one told me about the Hughes retirement plan. There is lots of work. The people are family. The cost of living in Tucson is low. The company, under Bill Swanson, is progressive.

Cons

Tucson. Cow town. Lots of red tape. Slow to accomplish what needs to be done due to being a defense firm.

Pros

Do exciting work, innovative work Good about developing new talent Allow lateral movement around the company Solid core products

Cons

The company is pretty large and at times the bureaucratic processes can be confusing and daunting, this is on top of the huddles one has to jump through working with government consumers

Pros

Good salary, interesting projects, tuition reimbursement, lots of young people, a very nice benefits package, ability to move around in the company

Cons

I don't have too many negative things to say about Raytheon. I left because I wanted to move back to my home state. My only complaint is that it's a defense job and the funding relies a lot on politics and who's president at the time.
