Pros

Raytheon really focuses on retaining talent and utilizing on the job training. Advancement opportunities are good but sometimes lateral moves are the only way to advance. I've enjoyed my time at Raytheon, but the 2-3% raises, standard in this industry, won't retain talent.

Cons

2-4% raises every year Lots of oversight but standard for defense industry Upward mobility for a few chosen but if you're not chosen, do your two-three years and leave You'll know if you're a "chosen" one or not

Pros

-Stable paycheck -Nice people for the most part -Some interesting domestic and international work

Cons

-New people get good pay for the first year or two, but the salary doesn't increase much after that. You need to become a contractor or jump companies to get market value. -Outdated systems and tools, you will probably not add many useful skills to your resume. -Lots of overtime and weekend work. Work life balance is not usually great. -Not many new projects right now, which means that sites are still letting people go while replacing them with less expensive alternatives.
